Austin Sandhaus is a New York City based photographer exploring the layered conversation between photographer, subject, camera, and viewer. She moves the lens to the personal, the queer, the quiet, and in-between moments often rendered to the background of everyday life. With a sensitive approach, she shapes light to hold her subjects, creating an architecture within the frame, supporting and releasing the subject’s essence ultimately bringing the viewer to meet the unseen.
